Seasonal Felicitations

Here at The New Carolers, I hope to inspire you anew to embrace the musical heritage of the Christmas season. I invite you to discover the joy of collective, not commercial, musical retelling of the coming of the Christ Child. Come find the simplicity, seek the beauty, and embrace the wonder found in the tradition of Christmas Carols, whether they are well known, hidden gems, or even a few of my own original settings from my annual Christmas Carol Letters.

All the music and arrangements you find here are welcome to be used, free of charge, for personal or congregational use. While this site is still in its infancy, someday you will find a wide array of various settings for public domain carols, from “lead sheets” to traditional hymnal style 4 part harmony to countermelody accompaniment, in different keys and clefs so that you can find what fits your situation best.

For a few simple suggestions on how to successfully lead a caroling event, whether at home, traveling from door to door, or in a congregational service, I have gathered a few thoughts here.

Hayward Cantata Choir: practice recordings for 2023 are here!

Enjoy the season, and may you bless others with the gift of music this Christmas!
